Arab’s girls tennis team suddenly is on a roll.

Playing 6A, Section 8 opponent Hazel Green last Wednesday, the Lady Knights won 7-2. Then on Friday against another section foe, Fort Payne, the Arab girls won 8-1.

The Arab boys also beat Hazel Green 7-2 but lost to Fort Payne 8-1.

Against Hazel Green, singles winners for the girls were: No. 2 Kate Collins, 8-0;

No. 3 Hensley Elrod, 8-0; No. 4 Kayleigh King, 8-1; No. 5 Josselyn Kalber, 8-2; and No. 6 Shelby Moore, 8-2.

In doubles, No. 2 Elrod/King won 8-2 and No. 3 Kalber/Moore won 8-5.

For the boys against Hazel Green, singles winners were No. 2 JJ Bailey, 8-5; No. 3 Tyler Boyd, 9-8 (7-2); No. 4 Will Cavender, 8-2; No. 5 Brodie Cash, 8-5; and No. 6 Case Couch, 8-1.

In doubles, No. 2 Bailey/Cash won 8-4 and No. 3 Cavender/Couch won 8-0.

Junior high winners were No. 7 Ellie Johnson, 6-1, and No. 8 Millie Johnson, 6-0.

Against Fort Payne, singles winners for the girls were: No. 1 Sara Kate Lynch, 8-4; No. 2 Kate Collins, 8-0; No. 3 Hensley Elrod, 8-0; No. 4 Kayleigh King, 8-0; and No. 6 Shelby Moore, 8-1.

In doubles, No. 1 Lynch/Collins won 8-4, No. 2 Elrod/King won 8-3 and No. 3 Kalber/Moore won 8-1.

For the boys against Fort Payne, the No. 2 doubles team of Bailey/Cash won 9-8 (7-5).
