Arab has two teams participating in the Alabama Recreation and Parks Association (ARPA) State Softball Tournament this weekend at Lagoon Park in Montgomery.

Arab will be represented by 8-under and 10-under All-Star teams.

The 8-under team is coached by Jesse Partington, Kevin Venable, Wes Baugh and Kevin Camp. It played its first game in the 10-team tournament last night (Friday) against Hamilton.

If it won, it plays at 2 p.m. today in a winners bracket game. If it lost, it would play a losers bracket game at noon today. The tournament final is scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday.

Members of the 8-under team are Aubrey Madison Baughm Hadley Faith Blackmon, Anna Elizabeth Camp, Jada Leanne Edwards, Mia Nayelli Hernandez, Bella Clair Partington, Sophie Ann Partington, Taylor Ann Thompson, Laynie Elizabeth Tidmore, Madelyn Marie Toth and Payson Ryleigh Venable.

Thompson and Venable are 6-year-olds.

The 10-under team is coached by Brian Walker, Chris Guthery, David Mier and Rickey Morrow. It played its first game last night against Winfield.

If it won, it plays a winners bracket game at 2 p.m today. If it lost, it plays a losers bracket game at noon today. The nine-team tournament is scheduled to end at 11 a.m. Sunday.

Members of the 10-under team are Isabella Claire Embry, Caycee Jordan Franklin, Reagan Hope Golden, Kendall Paige Guthery, Ema Rayne Ivey, Maci Deneen Mier, Ella Kate Morrow, Raylee Brooke Morrow, Emilee Raegan Walker and Maggie Brooks Watts.
