Brindlee Mountain’s varsity volleyball team prepped for the 3A, Area 13 Tournament by competing in a tournament Saturday at Supreme Courts in Warrenton.

The Lady Lions won one match and lost four to move to 11-13 on the season. They lost to East Limestone 13-25, 23-25; they fell to Elmore County 10-25, 24-26; they lost to White Plains in three sets 21-25, 25-13, 13-15; they defeated Douglas 25-23, 25-23; and they lost to Fayette County 25-21, 15-25, 11-15.

Brindlee Mountain, the third seed, plays Holly Pond at 5:30 p.m. today in the area tournament at Susan Moore.

The top-seeded Lady Bulldogs will play J.B. Pennington at 4 p.m. The winners meet at 7 p.m. to play for the area title. The runner-up also advances in the playoffs.

The Area 13 champion faces Area 9 runner-up Saks onWednesday in the North Super Regional at Huntsville. The Area 13 runner-up plays Area 9 champion Walter Wellborn, also on Wednesday. Both matches start at 12:45 p.m.
