The final sign-up for Brindlee Mountain Park and Recreation basketball and cheer is set for Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Brindlee Mountain Elementary School gym (Grassy).

Fee for basketball is $55. Copy of birth certificate must be shown at registration. Cheer fee is $100 and includes poms, uniform, bow and insurance. Boys and girls ages 5-12 years are eligible to play (age based on Sept. 1, 2021). Age breakdowns will be 5-6, 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12.

Turkey shoots

The Union Grove Masonic Lodge #320 F&AM will host turkey shoots every Saturday starting Oct. 2 until Dec. 18. Shoots start at 9 a.m. Any over-the-county shotgun and chokes 410 to 12 gauge can be used.

Shooting sticks are permitted. Shots are $5 donations each. Shoots are held on Union Grove Road across from the company formerly known as Reed Construction.

Turkey/ham shoot

There will be a ham and turkey shoot to benefit Brindlee Mountain athletics on Thanksgiving morning beginning at 8:30. Shots are $2.25 for turkeys and $2.75 for hams. For more information, call George Stone: 256-656-0676.
