What a difference a week made for Brindlee Mountain High School’s varsity basketball teams.

Last Friday, playing their first Class 3A, Area 13 games at home against Holly Pond, both the Lions and Lady Lions went down in big losses.

On Thursday night, the teams flipped the script, both gaining wins over area foe Vinemont to even their area records at 1-1.

Christian Adams and Nick Knepper each scored 14 points to lead the varsity boys to a 44-35 win over Vinemont.

The Lions improved to 4-6 overall.

Kaitlin Childress scored nine points to lead the varsity girls over Vinemont 42-37.

The Lady Lions’ overall record is now 4-5.

The JV girls (3-5) also whipped Vinemont 27-6. The JV boys (2-7) lost 33-8.

Against Holly Pond, the Lions fell 63-32. Caleb Scott had 13 points.

The Lady Lions lost 51-16. Kyleigh Wilks led them with four points.

The JV girls lost 28-12 while the JV boys lost 48-18.

Brindlee Mountain plays at Asbury on Tuesday.
