The Brindlee Mountain girls came back from a pandemic-related break on a mission.

First, last Friday, Kyleigh Wilks scored 17 points and Chantzley Kirkland added 13 as the Lady Lions defeated West End 46-18.

Then on Tuesday, they went down to Blountsville and pulled out a 45-33 win over J.B. Pennington in their first Area 13 game of the season.

Brindlee Mountain scheduled West End after being informed Holly Pond’s players were coming off quarantine. The Lady Lions were forced to postpone some games earlier in the season for the same reason.

Against West End, Kailyn Childress had nine points, Anna Claire Garmany had five and Natasha Williams two.

Against Pennington, Kirkland led the way with 14 points. Wilks and Childress added nine points each. Abbey Mooneyham had seven points and Zoie Decker had six.

The Lady Lions play their second area game at Susan Moore on Friday night.
