It’s Homecoming tomorrow night at Brewer High School, and the Patriots have much to celebrate, even if the record doesn’t show it.

That’s the view of first-year head coach Matt Plunkett, who sees a ton of progress from a team that fell to 0-7 with a 48-28 loss to Lee-Huntsville last Friday. From his first day on the job, Plunkett has called this senior class and team as the foundation of the program.

“Our team is getting better every day,” Plunkett said. “I’m proud of the improvement I’m seeing inside our program on a daily basis.

“I know football and I know how to build a team and program the right way. These kids want to be winners and are willing to put the work in to get it done.”

The strength of the team is a huge sophomore and freshman presence, but the following seniors will be recognized for Homecoming: Gonzalo Ramirez, Micah Steffen, Lee Murray, Mason Humphrey, Cody Miller, Caleb Hodges and Hagen Sharp.

The final home game will be Oct. 22 against Lawrence. County.
