Scottsboro scored with 31 seconds remaining in the third quarter to cut Arab’s lead to 28-22, but the JV Knights didn’t let up and continued getting big plays to get a 36-22 win at home Monday night.
Arab was led by Logan Alldredge, who had 257 yards rushing on 18 carries. Alldredge scored on runs of 2, 10, 30 and 40 yards and also scored on two, two-point conversions.
His 2-yard touchdown run came after a 63-yard run on the previous play.
QB Gabe Norton scored on an 8-yard run and connected with Landon Strickland on a conversion pass.
The Knights also got some help on the defensive side of the football. Dylan Morrow recovered a fumble on the Wildcats’ first drive, giving Arab a short field at the Scottsboro 43 to set up its first score.
Wyatt Lamar got an interception to end the half and Hagen Stewart got a pick to essentially end the game.
While Arab scored on drives of 2, 2, 4, 6 and 7 plays, the Wildcats had more of a ball-control offense and scored on drives of 11, 12 and 13 plays.
Wildcat QB Jake Jones completed 10 of 15 passes for 104 yards and Keelan Alvarez had 81 yards rushing on 17 carries.
