Wanda Dean Robinson Whisenant, 88, of Morgan City died Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, at her residence.
Mrs. Whisenant was born April 15, 1933, to John Doyle and Eva Odell Waldrip Robinson. She was married to John Harold Whisenant, who preceded her in death.
She lived in the Morgan City area for 71 years. She worked at home taking care of her family.
She enjoyed traveling, dancing, and eating out and she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sons: David C. Whisenant and Tim R. Whisenant; daughters and sons-in-law: Joanie F. Whisenant (Buddy), Dian and John L. Bray, Sandra G. Whisenant, Carol and Perry Walter, Jolene and Jimmy Parker; brother: Johnny Robinson; sisters and brother-in-law: Hazel Childers, Jackie and Tommy Jacobs; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great, great-grandchild; and special friend: Gus Wilson.
She is preceded in death by a son: H. Ricky Whisenant; great-grandchild: Taigen Black; four brothers and one sister.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19, 2021, at Brindlee Mountain Chapel with Jason Bomar officiating. Burial was at Union Grove Cemetery in Morgan City with Brindlee Mountain Chapel and Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.
Pallbearers were Brad Black, Dustin Parker, Jacob Dendy, Devin Perkins, Chandler Bing, and Michael Childers. Honorary pallbearers were Hufton Decker and Lyndon Decker.
