Edith Virginia Madden Guger, 86, of Guntersville died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019, at Marshall Medical Center North.

Mrs. Guger was born July 10, 1933 in Blount County to Jeff and Evolee McWhorter Madden.

She was a homemaker, enjoyed flower gardening and loved to take care of her family, cooking many wonderful meals from the produce grown in her garden.

She was the second oldest member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church, where she attended regularly until her health prevented her from going.

She is survived by her husband: Thomas C. “Bud” Guger of Guntersville; children and in-laws: Randy Bannister of Arab, Barry and Wendy Bannister of Holly Pond, Jeffrey and Deidra Bannister of Arab, David and Rhonda Guger of Arab and Sherry Blackmon of Arab; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren: brother: Daldon Madden of Guntersville; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, church family and many friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her first husband: Dalton Bannister; brother and sister.

The funeral was at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 2019, at Gober Funeral Chapel with Ennis Stone and Greg Stone officiating. Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery with Gober Funeral Chapel directing.

Pallbearers were Drake Bannister, Michael Blackmon, Jason Guger, Eddie Madden, Steve Madden and Bentley Isom.

Alternate pallbearers were Mike Baird and Jason Clay.
