Therman Dale “Homie” Parker, 87 of Union Grove died Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, at his residence.

Mr. Parker was born Nov. 10, 1931, in Marshall County to Willie Parker and Martha Cox Parker. He was married to the former Lena Rivers Bond for 63 years.

He grew up in the Summit community of Blount County. He served in the United States Air Force for 11 years and later retired from Redstone Arsenal.

He enjoyed working on tractors, traveling and having shade tree conversations with his friends and family.

She is survived by his wife: Lena Rivers Bond-Parker; children and in-laws: Michael and Evelyn Parker, Phillip Parker, Polly and Donnie Thomas, Patsy and Anthony Nappier, Pam and Gary Brown, Jackie and Dani Jo Davis; grandchildren: Michelle and Joey, Shanna, Jason, Jesse, Sam, Matt, Willie, Bridgett and Lauren; great-grandchildren: Logan, Zach, Jaccy, Alison, Parker Grace, Lola, Bradyn, Aubrey, Abigail, Trey, Carson, Kylie Rae and Kelsie; and great, great-grandchild: Darcy-Kal.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 2019, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Josh Garmany officiating. Burial was in Union Grove First Baptist Church cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.

Pallbearers were Joey Hubble, Jason Thomas, Sam Davis, Jesse Davis, Willie Parker and Matt Brown.
