Ruth Waldrop, 83, of Arab died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019, at Barfield Health Care.
Mrs. Waldrop was born Sept. 7, 1936, in Baytown, Texas, to Claude and Beatrice Kressley. She was married to Bobby Joe Waldrop, who preceded her in death in January 1973.
She retired from working as an administrative assistant at the Redstone Arsenal. She was part of the Red Hat club and enjoyed square dancing. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Joppa, AL.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Connie and Gary Serrett, Marcia and Kenneth Holcomb; grandchildren and in-laws: Kevin and Ashley Serrett, Angela and Clint Maze, Matthew and Marley Holcomb and Clayton and Hannah Holcomb; great-grandchildren: Kate Maze, Meredith Maze, Emma Charles Maze, Morgan Serrett, Jasmyn Conner and Nora Evelyn Holcomb.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Sherman Bailey officiating. Burial was in Corinth Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.
Pallbearers were Kevin Serrett, Matthew Holcomb, Clayton Holcomb, Clint Maze, Gary Serrett and Kenneth Holcomb.
