Ruby Pate

Ruby Jean Teal Pate, 67, of the Strawberry community died Friday, Feb. 26, 2021.

Ms. Pate was born Sept. 8, 1953, in Blount County to Robert Otis Teal and Dorothy Mae Blankenship Teal.

She worked as a seamstress for Wrangler before her retirement.

She enjoyed spending her free time playing cards, shopping, cooking, visiting the Smokey Mountains and, above all, treasured the time she spent with her beloved family.

She was a member of the Gathering Place in Hulaco.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Benson and Yolanda Berry and Jason and Lisa Berry; brother and sister-in-law: Billy and Linda Teal; sisters and brothers-in-law: Mary Jane Price, Judy and Robby Brooks, and Debra and Charley Gortney; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son: Brandon Berry; and brothers: Robert L. Teal and Ronnie W. Teal.

The funeral was at 11 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2021, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Keith Parker officiating. Burial was in Ellenburg Cemetery in Joppa with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.

Pallbearers were Nathan Pangle, Craig Halligan, Tom Fant, Scottie Price, Brian Cleveland and Alex Summers
