Ronald G. Nabors, 93 of Arab died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021, at Diversicare of Arab.
Mr. Nabors was born Feb. 20, 1928, in Union Grove to of Judson D. Nabors and Mamie Graves Nabors.
He was a graduate of Arab High School Class of 1947 and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He attended Jacksonville State University receiving his bachelor’s degree in education in 1954 then went on to receive his master’s degree from Peabody University in 1957.
He was principal for 8 years at the Midway School and retired from Arab High School after teaching 26 years. After his retirement he enjoyed spending time on the farm gardening, raising cattle and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Sheila and Wayne Mahathey; granddaughter and in-law: Cecillia and Jonathan Smith; great-grandson: Judson Wayne “Jud” Smith; Godchild: Robbie (Jeff) Mashburn; sisters: Ann Watson and Gaynell Waldrop; brothers: Max Nabors and Frank Nabors, and host of nieces, nephews, other family and many dear friends.
The graveside service was at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021, at Sweet Home Baptist Church cemetery with Matt Jordan officiating and Gober Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers were Phillip Watson, Mike Jones, Fred Dodd, Jerry Willis, Craig Ashley and Richard Whisenant.
