James Randell Scott, 78, of Arab died Sunday, April 21, 2019, at Marshall Medical Center North. 

Mr. Scott was born May 26, 1940, in Alabama to Buman and Hermoain Campbell Scott. He was married to the former Annazell Shaw.

He graduated from Arab High School in 1958 and was valedictorian of his class. He graduated from Snead State and went on to be a machinist. 

They owned and operated their family business, MBS Manufacturing, with their sons until he retired. He attended Sweet Home Baptist Church for many years.

He is survived by his wife: Ann Scott of Arab; sons and daughters-in-law: Michael and Tracey Scott of Madison, Mark Scott and Jay Scott of Arab; brother and sister-in-law: Don and Cecelia Scott of Hayden; grandchildren: Adrea Ballew, Rachael and Bobby Childers and Dakota Scott; great-grandchildren: Breanna, Cameron, Emmett and Bolyn.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today, April 24, 2019, at Gober Funeral Chapel with Andy Brown officiating. Burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery with Gober Funeral Chapel directing.
