Windell F. “Pete” Willis, 79, of Arab died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019, at Marshall Medical Center North.
Mr. Willis was born Aug. 28, 1940, in Marshall County to Walter Lee and Exie Tillman Willis. He married Willie Haga on April 2, 1966.
He was a graduate of Fairview High School and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked as a courier until he retired.
He was a member of the Rocky Mount Primitive Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Willie H. Willis of Arab; sons and daughters-in-law: Jason Lynn and Lynne Willis and James Lee and Mandy Willis of Arab; daughter and son-in-law: Jana an Mickey Waldrop of Arab; brothers and sisters-in-law: Wayne and Bonita Willis of Arab and Bud and Peggy Willis of Guntersville; sister and brother-in-law: Joan and Tommy McKinney of Boaz; grandchildren and in-law: Nick Carrington, Kaleigha and Eric Cramer, Seth Moore, Harley Willis, Sydney Willis, Hannah Willis, Kaylyn Willis and Lane Waldrop; great-grandson: Ezra Cramer; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death brothers and sisters: one who died at birth, Jr. Willis, John Willis, Alvin “Duke” Willis, Clarence “Buck” Willis, Eulon Willis, Margaret Willis and Betty Garrison.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today, Sept. 11, 2019, at Gober Funeral Chapel with Elder Matt Jordan officiating. Burial will be in New Harmony Cemetery with Gober Funeral Chapel directing.
Pallbearers will be Harley Willis, Tony Willis, Scott Haga, Nick Carrington, Eric Cramer, Seth Moore, Adam Camp, Steve McKinney.
Honorary pallbearer will be Randall Garrison, and serving as flower girls will be his nieces.
