Morris Nathaniel Fleming, 79, of Arab died Saturday June 27, 2020 at Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville.

Mr. Fleming was born Dec. 11, 1940, in Arab to Effie and Clauda Fleming. 

He was a businessman and owned a store in Hopewell from 1964-1971 and Scant City Superette from 1968-2001. He raised Jack Russell dogs for many years and loved hunting and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife: Lavon Fleming of Arab; daughter and son-in-law: Shannon and Chris Barksdale of Arab; grandchildren and in-laws: Luke and Sabra Barksdale and Hannah and AJ Crawford of Arab: great-grandsons: Cade Barksdale, Carter Barksdale and Wade Crawford of Arab; brother and sister-in-law: Norman and Marcell Fleming of Florence; sister and brother-in-law: Sandra and Ron Ervin of Arab; nieces and nephew-in-laws: Heather and Linh Tran of Marrietta, Ga., and Haley and Steven Miller of Harvest; nephew and niece-in-law: Wes and Mary Heather Fleming of Florence; great-nieces: Addison Tran, Ambrey Tran and Scarlett Fleming; and great-nephew: Leo Fleming.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, July 3, 2020, at Hopewell Cemetery with Gober Funeral Chapel officiating.
