Monnie Hadley

Monnie Irene Hadley, 95, of Baileyton died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021, at Diversicare of Arab.

Ms. Hadley was born Sept. 16, 1925, to Ruben Lowe and Jewel Hooten Lowe in Arab. She was married to Hershall Melvin Hadley, who preceded her in death.

She was a retired seamstress and chicken house owner. She enjoyed spending her free time at the Baileyton Senior Center and attending church services at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church.

She also enjoyed gardening and giving her time and love to others. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Renae and Ronald Harris; grandchildren and in-laws: Tracy and Tim Casey, Jeremy and Ashely Hadley, Scott and Lynn Hadley, Kayla and Gage Walker, Austin and Elizabeth Hyatt, Kristi and Casey Clark and Jason Harris; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sons: Ronnie Hadley and Glenn Hadley; brothers: Wilton Lowe and Radford Lowe; and sisters: Stacy Smith and Mamie Conley.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, at Mount Hermon Baptist Church with Randy Milligan and Arthur Feemster officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.

Pallbearers were Jeremy Hadley, Austin Hyatt, Scott Hadley, Gage Walker, Tim Casey and Alvin Weeks.
