Mary Buchanan Roe, 83, of the Grassy community died Sunday, May 5, 2019, at her residence.

Mrs. Roe was born May 2, 1936, in Marshall County to Oliver Burton and Annie Deliah Buchanan. She married Beley “Bill” LaWayne Roe Dec. 27, 1952. He preceded her in death May 9, 2013.

She retired after 25 years from Wrangler. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and loved spending time with her family.

She was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Ricky and Kathy Roe, Charles Roe, Randal and Sandy Roe; daughters and sons-in-law: Deborah and Alvie Plunkett, Karen and Eric Peterson; grandchildren: Brad and Sherrie Roe, Daniel and Alicia Roe, Angela and Joe Brown, Jeremy and Amanda Plunkett, Aaron Roe, Brandon Peterson, Brianna Roe; great-grandchildren: Caleb Roe, Joshua Roe, Sarah Roe, Lily Roe, Ella Roe, Annie Brooks Plunkett, Asa Brown; brothers and sisters-in-law: Eugene “Gene” and Faye Buchanan, William Roy and Pat Buchanan; sister and brother-in-law: Virginia “Judy” and Jonathan Medlock; special friend: Dianne Edmondson.

She was preceded in death by brothers: J.C. Buchanan, Bobby Buchanan; sisters: Nell Bright, Doris Chapman.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Mike Whitt and Jeremy Plunkett officiating. Burial was in Brookwood Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.

Pallbearers were Brad Roe, Daniel Roe, Brandon Peterson, Aaron Roe, Caleb Roe and Josh Roe; Honorary Pallbearer, Joe Brown.
