Mary “Annette” Helms, 78, of the Pine Ridge community of Morgan City area died Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at Huntsville Hospital.

Mrs. Helms was born March 5, 1941, to Lee Kater Gosa and Leila Eldora Stanford Gosa in Lamar County. She was married go George Marion Helms for 59 years.

She was an electronic technician at GTE. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was a member of Highland Baptist Church.

Mrs. Helms is survived by her husband: George Marion Helms; daughter and son-in-law: Sherry and Manuel Nin; grandchildren: Joshua Keith Cavender, Zachary Aaron and Jessica Cavender, Antonio Alexander Nin; great-grandchildren, Case Aaron Cavender, Camille Evelyn Cavender; sister & brother-in-law: Vickie Gosa and David Spurlin; brother: Ned Gosa.

She was preceded in death by a son: Michael Keith Helms; brother: George Edward Gosa.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2019, at Brindlee Mountain Chapel with Freddy Childs and Craye Hall officiating. Burial was in Highland Baptist Church Cemetery with Brindlee Mountain Chapel and Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.

Pallbearers were Joshua Keith Cavender, Zachary Aaron Cavender, Antonio Alexander Nin, A.K. LaFarlette, Radford Hornbuckle and Will Black.

Memorials may  be made to Highland Baptist Church Cemetery Fund; 12 Dunn Road, Union Grove, Ala. 35175.
