Martha Crawford, 106, of Baileyton died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020, at Hanceville Health and Rehab.

Mrs. Crawford was born June 7, 1914, in Morgan County to Wiley W. and Lula Mote Turney. She was married to William A. Crawford, who preceded her in death.

She was a first-grade teacher in the Morgan County School System at Cotaco School.

She was a member of the Blue Springs Baptist Church, the Daughters of the Revolution, The Eastern Star, the Country Garden Club and Hartselle Garden Club.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by a granddaughter and in-law: Dana and Mark Jenkins; two grandsons and in-law: Tom and Nicki Crawford and Jack Crawford; great-grandchildren: Caitlin Crawford, Catherine Crawford, Connor Crawford and Weston Jenkins; sister and brother-in-law: Betty and Richard Dunn; daughter-in-law: Nancy Crawford.

She was preceded in death by two sons:

John T. Crawford and James W. "“Jimmy” Crawford; two brothers: Louis Turney

and Joe Grant Turney; and grandson: Mark Crawford. 

The private graveside service is at 11 a.m. today, Nov. 12, 2020, at New Salem Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.

Memorials may be made to Southern Care New Beacon Hospice.
