Lois Ann Helms Garrett, 74, of Arab died Saturday, May 18, 2019, at her residence.

Mrs. Garrett was born Oct. 4, 1944, in Morgan County to Anderson Tidwell Helms and Estelle Westbrooks Helms. She was married to Robert Marlin Garrett, who preceded her in death Jan. 19, 2017.

She retired from Chrysler. She enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing, puzzles, yard sales, listening to blue grass and gospel music. She loved spending time with her family, friends and her dog, Catfish.

She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law: Donna and Randy Wilks, Connie Garrett; son and daughter-in-law: Ricky and Tracy Garrett; grandchildren and in-law: Brittany Garrett and Cody Loftis, Kristin Wilks, Jessica Wilks, Brodie King, Kole King; brothers and sisters-in-law: George Marion and Annette Helms, William R. and Sandy Helms, Wendell Hugh and Velma Helms.

The funeral was at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2019, at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with Gary McRae, Clint Maze and Radford Pritchett officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.

Pallbearers were Scott Helms, Rex Helms, John Helms, Lance Garrett, Lee Garrett, Clint Blackmon, Lavon Garrett, Gary Garrett, Jerry Garrett, James Johnson, John Kirkland, Rodney Garrett, Zack Cavender, Brodie King and Kole King.

Memorials may be made to Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Building Fund.
