Kevin Harden Athow, 55, of Arab, died Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at his residence. 

Mr. Athow was born Nov. 21, 1963, in Madison County to Adelbert Morse Athow and Helen Lucille Harden.

He was an Arab High School graduate and enjoyed storm chasing, NASCAR racing, and Alabama football. He was also an airplane enthusiast and never met an animal he didn't fall in love with.

He was a longtime photo journalist for WAAY 31 and WAFF 48 news in Huntsville. 

He is survived by his fiancé: Pam Ashley; daughter and son-in-law: Lindsey Athow and Kevin Sullivan; grandchild: Caitlyn Sullivan; sisters: Sherrie Van Slyke (Fred), Denise Williams (Michael); brother: Keith Athow (Neal); nieces: Ashley Van Slyke, Allie Van Slyke, Kylie Williams; and nephew: Logan Suter.

A celebration of life event for family and close friends will be held this fall.
