Kay Eastep Mardis, 71, of Arab died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at Cullman Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Mardis was born March 2, 1949, in Arab to T.H. “Tut” Eastep and Roberta Shelton Eastep. She was married to Mike Mardis, who preceded her in death.

She was a graduate of Arab High School Class of 1967, attended the University of Alabama receiving a degree in education. She was a home economics teacher at Arab High School until her retirement. She was a lifetime member of the Arab First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children and in-laws: Jeff and Michelle Mardis of Birmingham and Jennifer and Ty King of Arab; grandchildren: Anna Mardis, Mallory Mardis, Kayleigh King and Lawson King; brother and sister-in-law: Billy and Becky Eastep of Madison; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Kenny and Linda Mardis of Guntersville.

A private family service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, at Arab First Baptist Church with Paul Murphy officiating. Burial was in Arab Memorial Cemetery with Gober Funeral Chapel directing.

Memorials may be made to the Arab First Baptist Church.
