Katie Sue Brown, 77, of Joppa died Sunday, June 21, 2020.

Mrs. Brown was born Aug. 29, 1942, in Arab to Junior Cornelius “Neeley” Hornsby and Clara Bell Light Hornsby. She was married to Mitchell Newton “Mickey” Brown.

She worked as a lab technician for Chrysler, was a lady who enjoyed the little things about life such as admiring the beauty of her flowers, jewelry and nature.

She was a member of the Lystra Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband: Mitchell Brown; grandson: Justin Brown; brother and sister-in-law: James and Mellicha Hornsby; and a host of nieces, nephews, special friends and loved ones, including Kaylee and Dravin.

She was preceded in death by her son: Steve Larry Brown; sisters: Irene Hornsby, Della Mae Fletcher, Villa Dean King, Nellie Ruth Walker and Diann Powell; and brothers: Noel Hornsby and Wilber Gene Hornsby. 

The funeral was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with John Garrison officiating. Burial was in Gilliam Springs Baptist Church with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.

Pallbearers were Randy Smith, Adam Weaver, Chris Weaver, Mitch Weaver, Tommy Stapler and Elgin Guthrie
