Karen Tipton Hanson, 64, of Joppa died Tuesday, Dec.22, 2020.

Mrs. Hanson was born Feb. 27, 1956, in Arab to Conrad and Sue Henderson Tipton. She was married to Don Hanson.

She was a cosmetologist for 42 years and owned and operated her own salon for many of those years. When she was not in the salon, she could be found in her garden. She enjoyed working in her yard and loved the beauty of flowers and plants.

She was an active member of Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church in Holly Pond. She enjoyed the preaching of God’s word, as well as the fellowship of her church family.

She is survived by her husband: Don Hanson: son and daughter-in-law: Brady and Reinah Hanson; daughter and son-in-law: Brandy and Justin Coppett; brothers and sister-in-law: Keith Tipton and Chris and Cheryl Tipton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother: Ricky Tipton.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020, at Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church. Burial was in Union Grove Cemetery with Holly Pond Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers were Chris Tipton, Cody Tipton, Connor Tipton, Brady Hanson, Cash Hanson and Zander Hanson.
