JoAnn Noe Smith, 82, of Arab died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021.
Mrs. Smith was born Jan. 31, 1939, in Birmingham, to Leonard and Josie Ann Noe. She was married to Frank Smith for 63 years. He preceded her in death.
She served the Arab community as a member of the Arab City Council, sewer board and realtor with Century 21.
She was a member of Arab Church of Christ, where she taught children’s bible classes for 40 years.
She was a godly woman and exemplified the virtuous wife and mother of Proverbs 31. She loved her family dearly and her worth was far more than rubies. She and her husband shared many memories with the grandchildren with family trips to the Great Smoky Mountains, the Pancake Pantry and a stop for caramel corn for the return home.
She is survived by her children: Renae Jackson, David and Kim Smith and Staci and Alan Simmons; grandchildren and in-laws: Katherine and Michael Frick, Dalton Jackson, Sarah Leslie and Ben Wright, Sydney and Mitchell Newell, Connor and Cody Hughes, Channing and Dylan Stewart, Cole Simmons; great-grandchildren: Mary Lynn Wright, Todd Wright and Beckham Hughes.
A celebration of life will be 3-4 Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021, at Arab Church of Christ with visitation 2-3 p.m.
