Jerry Gene Fouts, 71, of Arab died Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at Floyd E. Tut “Fann” State Veterans Home.

Mr. Fouts was born Oct. 13, 1947, in Iowa to Emmitt James Fouts and Ruthe Doris Whitney Fouts. He was married to the former Patricia Morrow for 52 years.

He was a United States Army and Navy veteran and served in the Vietnam War.

He was a jack-of-all-trades always making home repairs. He enjoyed listening to music, fishing and cruising around in his ultralight flyer.

He was a member of NorthWest Baptist Church.

Mr. Foust is survived by his wife: Patricia “Pat” Fouts; sons: James Whitney Fouts, Tim Martin Fouts; daughters and son-in-law: Tina Marie Fouts, Barbara Ann and Brian Reeves; brothers and sister-in-law: Terry and Pat Fouts, Jimmy Fouts, E.J. Fouts, Virgil Fouts; sisters and brothers-in-law: Becky Jean and Rubein Barnes, Janet Jean Fouts, Janell Marie and Jack Freeman, Sheila Marie Fouts; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2019, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Randy Blakely officiating. Burial was in New Salem Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.
