H. Jay Earwood, 86, of Hulaco died Sunday, July 7, 2019, at his residence.

Mr. Earwood was born Sept. 19, 1932, in Cullman County to Archie W. Earwood and Nancy Cleland Earwood. He was married to Janice Earwood for 55 years.

He retired from Amaco Chemical in Decatur. He enjoyed farming and working cattle, Alabama football and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was a member of Grandiflora Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife: Jan Earwood; sons and daughter-in-law: Andrew “Andy” Jay Earwood, Richard Brian and Melanie Earwood; grandchildren: Justin Earwood and Jordan Earwood; brother and sister-in-law: Ronald and Elaine Earwood; sisters: Ella Vann Earwood, Betty Jean Burden.

He was preceded in death by brothers: Travis Earwood, Wayburn Earwood, Gewin Earwood, Dale Earwood; sister: Aileen Wood.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, July 10, 2019, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. The funeral will follow at 1 p.m. with Beuell Cobb and Larry Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Hebron Church of Christ Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.
