James David “Jim” Bowling, 67, of Tucker, Ga., died Sept. 2, 2019.

Mr. Bowling was born in 1952 in Selma to John David Bowling and Martha Ellen Bowling. 

He attended college at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, and pursued a career in information technology.  As a data systems specialist and computer programmer, Jim configured computational systems for NASA, The Army Missile Command, Hertz Corporation, and the Georgia Technology Authority, from where he retired in 2010. 

He was a passionate artist and accomplished musician, guitarist, keyboardist, composer, and photographer. His work traversed numerous musical genres from rock, blues to new age and electronic music. 

He is survived by his wife: Elaine Loyd; son: Jess of Decatur, Ga.; father: John Bowling; sister: Julie; sister and brother-in-law: Sherri and Jimmy Hicks; and cousins, niece and nephews.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Oct. 19, 2019, at the A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home, 2773 North Decatur Road, Decatur, Ga., 30033.
