James William Beadenkopf, 81, of Canton, Ga., and formerly of the West Point community in Morgan County died Monday, May 20, 2019, in Georgia.

Mr. Beadenkopf was born July 13, 1937, in Baltimore, Md., to Roland Beadenkopf and Francis Hand Beadenkopf. He was married to Mary beadenkopf for 60 years.

He retired from the United States Army as Staff Sergeant First Class and later worked as a general supply specialist at the Redstone Arsenal.

In his past time he enjoyed golfing and traveling, especially to Gulf Shores and Myrtle Beach. He was an avid Alabama fan.

He is survived by his wife: Mary Beadenkopf; daughters and sons-in-law: Sharon and Tony Dietz, Joyce and Tom Potter; grandchildren: Rebecca and Robert Michael Cozza, Mary Colleen Cowan; great-grandchildren: Sharon Ansley Catoe, Alexis Madeline Cozza, Ava Josephine Cozza, Robert Michael Cozza Jr.; sister: May Pearce.

He was preceded in death by a son: James William Beadenkopf Jr.; and brothers: Gene Beadenkopf and Roland Beadenkopf Jr.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2019, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Bryan C. Mosely officiating. Burial was in Mount Olive Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.
