Ida Kate York, 95, of Jasper, Tenn., died peacefully at home Thursday, May 11, 2023. Â
Mrs. York was born Aug. 12, 1927, to Aud and Sarah King Tyler.
She was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, and a talented quilter and seamstress.  She enjoyed bowling and Braves baseball.
In spite of hardships, she was always friendly and outgoing, and never allowed her circumstances to control her positive outlook on life.Â
She is survived by her son: Eddie (Pam) Mooneyham of Whitwell, Tenn.; daughter, Donna (Roger) York Blaylock of Pace, Fla., Denise York Thornton of Georgia; grandchildren: Chris (Patty) Mooneyham and Candis (Bill) Partridge of Decatur, Mary Kate Blaylock of Pace, Fla.; great-grandchildren: Alex Cannon of Birmingham, Austin Partridge, Maddy Mooneyham, and Bella Mooneyham of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by three husbands, two of which died in tragic farm accidents: Olen Mooneyham and Bill Sandlin, and later Donald York; son: Troy Mooneyham; daughter: Bonita Mooneyham Varela;  sisters: Nona Mae Whisenant, Olene Tyler and Edna Wilson; brothers:  Fred Tyler, Sherman Tyler, Shirley Tyler and Jesse Tyler.
The funeral was at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Brindlee Mountain Chapel. Buria was in Mt. Olive Cemetery with Brindlee Mountain Chapel, Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel and Rogers Funeral Home of South Pittsburg, Tenn., handing the arrangements.
