Howard Mac Gibson, 87, of Union Grove died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020, at his residence.

Mr. Gibson was born Nov. 8, 1932, to Leon Gibson and Willie King Gibson.

He was a man of many trades … he worked as a machinist at Redstone Arsenal and farmed and was owner/operator of Gibson Sausage. He was dedicated to his craft and loved providing meat to others.

He was a member of Union Grove First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: John H. and Jennifer Gibson, Joseph and Pam Morris, Mark and Jean Morris; daughters and sons-in-law: Shannon and Chuck Campbell, Jenny Ann and Craig Northridge; brother and sister-in-law: Bob and Peggy Gibson; sisters: Mary Gail Sturgeon, Shirley “Tink” Parker; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by brothers: Clyde Gibson, Carl Gibson and Don Gibson; sister: Nina Dale Rouseff.

The funeral was at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Greg Narrell officiating. Burial was in Union Grove First Baptist Church Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.

Pallbearers were Craig Northridge, Chase Morris, Mark Ferguson, Mark Upton, Steve Hayes and Michael Parker.

Honorary pallbearers were Houston Lindsay, Charlie Hough and Roger Gibson.

Memorials may be made to the Union Grove First Baptist Church Cemetery fund.
