Hank Linsky Jr.

Henry “Hank” Linsky Jr., 78, of Arab died Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Hospice Family Care, Redstone Village.

Mr. Linsky was born April 18, 1945, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Henry Linsky Sr. and Mary Nunnelley Linsky. He was married to the former Rose Sharon Towery, whom he met in January 1965 and married that August.

He was a 1963 graduate of Arab High School then served as a medic in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. He later established a 35-year career as a registered nurse, with the last 25 as a civilian nurse for the United States Army. That included a three-year post in Germany.

His love and compassion for others gained him the respect of patients and coworkers alike, and he was presented the Superior Civilian Service award in recognition of meritorious service while assigned to Fox Army Health Center. 

He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. 

He retired in 2007and went on to pursue his other passions including gardening, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. His steadfast Christian faith inspired him to serve in numerous ministries within the church throughout his lifetime and his faith was a source of strength and encouragement to those who knew him. 

He is survived by his wife: Rose Linsky; daughters: Marlene and Heather; sisters: Mary Nell (Dan) Smalley, Trisha (Roger) Stanley, and Kathy (Mack) Reed; as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

A memorial service was held Friday, April 28, 2023, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
