Cooley

Gertie Ruth Cooley, 84, of Union Grove died Monday, April 22, 2019.

Mrs. Cooley was born May 26, 1934, in Marshall County to Earl Eugene Glass and Edell Nailor Glass. She was married to Edgar Earl Cooley, who passed away Oct. 20, 2008.

She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, attending yard sales, antiquing looking for furniture and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law: Kenny Peacock, Randall and Sandra Cooley; daughter and son-in-law: Joannie and Hall Reed; grandchildren and in-laws: Shane and Fealicia Mason, Dustin and Kaleigh Reed, Carla Peacock, Miranda Logan; great-grandchildren: Carson Reed, Asher Reed and Gracelyn Reed; brothers and sisters-in-law: Bob and Hulanda Glass, Roger and Sandra Glass; sisters and brothers-in-law: Jane Fowler, Mimi and Gerald Reeves, Barbara and Ray Osborne.

She was preceded in death by a son: Randy Bowland; sister: Edna Mae Glass; brothers: Ray Glass, Wade Glass, Olen Glass.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2019, at Sweet Home Baptist Church with Tim Lynch officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.

Pallbearers were Shane Mason, Dustin Reed, Jamie Glass, Nathan Glass, Mike Jones, Mike Ridgeway; Honorary Pallbearer, Carson Reed.
