Gary Wayne Johnson, 72, of Town Creek and formerly of Arab died Monday, Aug. 23, 2021.

Mr. Johnson was born June 27, 1949, in Marshall County to Lavoid Daniel Johnson and Ruth Pauline Black Johnson.

He spent a short time in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War.  He later worked in the construction business hanging drywall.

He loved animals. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He moved from Arab 15 plus years ago to Town Creek.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Sherry and Melvin King; brother: Danny Johnson; grandchild and in-law: Lucas and Melia Humphries; step grandsons and in-law: David and Linda King, Kevin King; great-grandchild: Copper Lane Humphries; step great-grandchildren: Kaitleigh King, Ade King, Blakelyn King, Kolton.

The graveside memorial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021, at New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery with Mike King officiating and Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.
