Faye Plunkett

Faye Easterwood Plunkett, 96, of the New Harmony community of Cullman County died Thursday, May 4, 2023, at her home.

Mrs. Plunkett was born April 13, 1927, in Cullman County to Middleton Lawrence and Ruth Clarabelle Lane Easterwood. She married James Hoyt Plunkett Feb. 22, 1947. He preceded her in death after 66 years of marriage.

Mrs. Plunkett was a long-time poultry and cattle farmer.

She is survived by her son: James “Tim” Plunkett and wife Sara of Arab; three grandsons: Bradley Plunkett (Jordan) of Atlanta, Isaac Plunkett (Amanda) of Trussville and Levi Plunkett (Nicki) of Arab; and two granddaughters: Maggie Lonsway (Mel) of Springhill, Tenn., and Kristen Crocker (Kyle) of Charleston, S.C.; great-grandson: Hoyt Plunkett of Arab; and four great-granddaughters: Teagan and Tinsley of Trussville, and Mazie and Nellie Plunkett of Arab.

She was predeceased by brothers: Bernard Easterwood, Claud Easterwood, Evard Easterwood and Calvin Easterwood; and sisters: Grace Blair, Agnes Easterwood, Florene Easterwood, and Verdie Easterwood; son: Joseph Hoyt Plunkett.

The graveside service was Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Arab Memorial Cemetery with Randy Blakely officiating and Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.
