Edna Ruth Walter, 76 of Union Grove died Friday, June19, 2020, at her residence.

Mrs. Walter was born Nov. 20, 1943, in Morgan County to Albert Holt and Wonnie A. Whisenant Holt. She was married to Ronald George Walter, who preceded her in death.

She worked as an assembler at the Chrysler factory, but retired after 25 dedicated years with the company. She had many activities she loved to partake in, such as watching soap opera and western shows, dining out, attending her church and spending every second she could with her family and her grandchildren.

She was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Melissa A. and Stanley McElyea and Angela and Troy Smith; sisters and brother-in-law: Betty and Wendell Cason and Nancy Krogh; grandchildren and in-laws: Justin and Adalis Cannon, Laura and Jason Layne, Samantha and Garrett Crawford, Savannah McElyea, Tyler and Taylor Smith, Trevor and Elyssa Smith, Jordan Smith; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son: Steven Law; brothers: Carl, Buck and Don; and sisters: Jean and Sue.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2020, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Bryan C. Mosley officiating. Burial was in Mount Olive Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.

Pallbearers were Justin Cannon, Jason Layne, Tyler Smith, Garrett Crawford, Trevor Smith and Jamie Steele.
