Dr. Charles Mann

Dr. Charles Reginald Mann, 85, of Arab died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021, at Huntsville Hospital.

Dr. Mann was born Oct. 9, 1935, to Silas Preston Mann and Una Jewel Hinkle Mann. He was married to Katie Mann for 62 years.

He has been a chiropractor in Arab since 1960. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Arab First United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife: Katie Mann; sons and daughters-in-law: Dan Mann, Steve and Tonia Mann, Andy and Kelly Mann, Phillip and April Mann, Tom and Lynn Mann; sister in law: Jean Satterfield Mann; grandchildren and in-laws: Geoff Mann, Emily Mann, Christine Mann, Courtney Mann, Catherine Mann, Josh and Jade Mann, Jake and Kara Mann, Chris and Madison Mann, Cameron Mann; great-grandchildren: Macksen Mann, Mason Mann, Merritt Mann, Kallen Mann; a host of nieces and nephews; and honorary granddaughter Avery Gaddis.

He was preceded in death by a brother: Marvin Mann; and sisters: Beatrice Richards, Anna Mae LaRue.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Mike Shirley officiating and Tom Mann offering the eulogy and Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.

Pallbearers were Josh Mann, Geoff Mann, Jake Mann, Chris Mann, Cameron Mann, and Chase Tidmore.

This is sad news. I haven't seen Dr. Mann in many, many years. But I remember him and his entire family quite fondly from my childhood. He had a sense of humor and a remarkable amount of patience around us kids! He was a good guy. My condolences to the Mann family.
