Dortha “Dot” Mae Hyatt Ellenburg, 88, of Arab died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019, at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice.

Mrs. Ellenburg was born Aug. 30, 1931, in Marshall County. She was married to Lurlie Gene Ellenburg, who preceded her in death.

She was a 1949 graduate of Arab High School and retired from Arab Water Works, where she served as an office manager. She enjoyed attending yard sales, auctions and going out to eat in her spare time.

She was a member of Union Hill First Congregational Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Danny G. and ShaRee Ellenburg; grandchildren: Brady Matthew Ellenburg, Jacob Daniel Ellenburg.

Preceded in death by a brother: Sherrill Hyatt.

The funeral was at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019, at Union Hill First Congregational Methodist Church with Jon Minyard and Russel Golden officiating. Burial was in Gilliam Springs Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.

Pallbearers were Walter Ellenburg,  Roger Ellenburg, Tommy Ellenburg, Robert Piland, Thomas Harvell and Jimmy Hanson.

Honorary pallbearers were Glennis Seals and Ralph Palmer.
