Dewey Marlin Hinkle, 88, of Union Grove died Saturday, April 27, 2019, at his residence.

Mr. Hinkle was born Feb. 13, 1931, in Marshall County to Dewey Morgan and Hattie Belle Turner Hinkle. He was married to Rennetta Dean Hinkle and they lived in Huntsville for about 50 years.

He served in the Army from January 1951 until December 1953. He then served in the National Guard for several years.

He retired from the City of Huntsville, where he worked as the supervisor of the waste water treatment plant.

He was a Mason and was a member of the Helion Lodge No. 1 in Huntsville. After he retired he and his wife, moved to the Union Grove area in 2010.

He is survived by his wife: Rennetta Hinkle of Union Grove; daughters and sons-in-law: Jean and Lawrence Curry of Lester and Kathy and Benny Wilbourn of Hazel Green; grandchildren and in-laws: Mike and Christie Mullins, Christy and Bradley Johnson, Dustin and Casey Curry, Angela and Chris Thomason, Bryan Wilbourn and Amanda Wilbourn; 10 great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. today, May 1, 2019, at Berryhill Funeral Home in Huntsville followed by a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville. Gober Funeral Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
