Cecil Monroe Winn, 72 of Arab died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020, at his residence.
Mr. Winn was born Oct. 19, 1948, to Robert Glenn Winn and Minnie Ellenburg Winn in Manchester, Tenn. He was married to the former Barbra Lynn Baird, who preceded him in death.
He was a retired U.S. law enforcement game warden and earlier in his life proudly served his country in the United States Army in the Vietnam War.
He has lived in the Arab Community since 2002 and was formerly of the Hulaco Area. He enjoyed coaching youth softball and basketball, working around the community and at the Ryan School. He also enjoyed coon, deer and turkey hunting as well as raising cattle, farming and researching.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Barbara W. and Brett Pierce; sisters and brother-in-law: Betty Yates, Sue Keilman, Pat and Duke Hill and Sherry Bright; grandchildren: Chelsea Wheeler, Alex Weekler, Ashley and Will Knapp, Grant and Brittney Pierce; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers: Leon Winn and Robert Lynn; and sisters: Joy Winn, Myra Pica, Evelyn Haines and Glenda Mullins.
The graveside service was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020, at Gilliam Springs Baptist Church cemetery with Lavon Winn and Ronald Earwood officiating and Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.
