Cade Laney, 36, of Morgan City died Saturday, March 14, 2020, at Marshall Medical Center North.
Mr. Laney was born Nov. 26, 1983, in Huntsville to Don and Cheri Laney. He was married to Mary Beth Laney.
After graduating from Arab High School, he joined the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office as a deputy/dispatcher. He was a United States Air Force Veteran, serving in the Iraq War. After returning home, he was employed by SCI – Sanmina as a quality control technician.
He had many accomplishments throughout his life. His high school faculty selected him Mr. Arab High School in 2002. He competed in track and field and was ranked 5th in the 2002 state decathlon. He was selected to the all-county football team and was a state ranked gymnast in his earlier years. He was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Mary Beth Laney; mother: Cheri Wray Laney; father: Donald Wayne Laney; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Joshua and Amber Laney and Cory and Laura Laney: and a host of other family and friends.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at Brindlee Mountain Chapel with Randy Blakely officiating and Josh Laney giving the eulogy. Burial was in Mount Olive Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel and Brindlee Mountain Chapel directing.
Pallbearers were Brandon Hill, Jonathon Scott, Jeremy Maples, Dean Tahacch, Brad Grady and Cory Laney.
