Bobby Joe Henderson, 83, of the Warrior Creek community died Monday, July 20, 2020, at his residence.

Mr. Henderson was born June 13, 1937, in Blount County to J.P. Henderson and Ethel Mae Walker Henderson.  He and Helen Holaway were married for 63 years.

He worked as a truck driver until his retirement.

He enjoyed gardening, fishing, lawn work and Alabama football. He loved life, spending time with family and friends and having a good time.

He was a member of Warrior Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife: Helen Henderson; daughters and sons-in-law: Denise and Tony Clark, DeeAnna and Mitch Berry; sons and in-law: Dennis and Tammy Henderson, Dave Henderson and Joe King; seven grandchildren: Brandon Clark, Casey and Kristi Clark, Nicholas and Wendy Maze, Amber and Matt Black, Jason and Crystal Berry, Britta and Brian Kiesler and Stephanie and Allan Henderson; nine great-grandchildren: Mason Black, Gannon Black, Stella Black, Grayson Clark, Caiti Clark, Kayra Maze, Collin Brock, Gavin Brock and Addie Henderson; sisters and brothers-in-law: Martha Maze, Glenda and Max McWhorter, Virginia and Sherril Blackmon and Sandra King; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by sisters: Sarah Brown and Mary Henderson.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2020, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Ennis Stone and Greg Stone officiating. Burial was in Warrior Creek Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.

Pallbearers were Nicholas Maze, Casey Clark, Brandon Clark, Jason Berry, Matt Black, Brian Kiesler and Allan Henderson.

Honorary pallbearers were Mason Black, Gannon Black, Collin Brock, Gavin Brock and Grayson Ward Clark.
