William “Bill” Nappier, 88, of the Union Hill community in Morgan County died Friday, Oct. 2, 2020, at his residence.

Mr. Nappier was born Aug. 17, 1932, in Morgan County to William Thomas Nappier and Etha Champion Nappier. He was married to the former Peggy Sullivan for 69 years at the time of her passing on Sept. 14, 2020.

He was a Korean War veteran and served in the United States Air Force for over 10 years. He was a member of the Union Grove Grand Lodge of Alabama for 63 years and a member of the New Canaan Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law: Deborah and Dewey Daniel of Union Grove and Sharon and Kenny Freytag of Seabrook, Texas; son and daughter-in-law: Warren T. and Peggy Nappier of Union Grove; brother and sister-in-law: Wallace T. and Frances Nappier of Union Grove; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by a grandson: Keith Parker.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow, Oct. 9, 2020, at New Canaan Baptist Church. The graveside service with military honors will follow at noon in the adjoining cemetery with Eldridge Criscoe officiating and Gober Funeral Chapel directing.
