Bardie Denice Brown, 60, of Arab died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020.

Miss Brown was born Oct. 1, 1959, in Covington, Ky., to Dennis Brown and Nan Bodine Brown.

She moved with her family to Arab in 1970 and graduated from Arab High School in 1977. She attended Spring Hill College in Mobile, where she received a bachelor’s degree in 1981. She attended Vanderbilt University and graduated from Peabody College with her master’s in education administration in 1984.

She retired early from University Space Research Association in Huntsville in 1997, where she had worked alongside NASA engineers as a project voordinator.

She was gentle, kind, and a lover of animals. She will be missed.

She is survived by her father: Dr. Dennis A. Brown of Arab; five sisters and brothers-in-law: Pamela and Mark Williams, Nancy and Matt Montegut, Betsy and Bill Garvis, Linda and Roger Blackmon and Sue and Joe Deal; 10 nieces and nephews; and a great-nephew.

The funeral mass was at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020, at Saint William Catholic Church. Burial was in Arab Memorial Cemetery with Gober Funeral Chapel directing.
