Ann Jackson

Ann W. Jackson, 82, of Union Grove died Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Huntsville Hospital.

Mrs. Jackson was born April 8, 1940, in Huntsville to Victor and Grace Winston. She was married to Jesse O. Jackson Jr.

She was a 1958 graduate of Huntsville High School. She was employed prior to her retirement at SCI in Huntsville and later in Arab.

She was a member of Oleander Methodist Church where at one time she was a Sunday school teacher.

She loved to sing and took great joy in singing acapella songs that she wrote herself as well as hymns she had loved since childhood. She loved calling people on their birthday and singing a special birthday song to them.

She is survived by her husband: Jesse Jackson; two daughters: Lois O’Dell (Brian) and Lisa Sloan; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother: Billy Winston; and son: Larry Daugette.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2023, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Gary McRae officiating and Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.
