Agnes “Bill” Mask of Arab died Monday, April 22, 2019, at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice Inpatient Facility in Albertville.

Mrs. Mask was the daughter of the late J.D. and Mable Ashworth Thomas. She was born in Coosa County, where she grew up. She married Newman Mask, and they had moved to Louisiana where he worked until he took a job at Redstone Arsenal.

At that point they moved to Arab and became part of the community and members of the Arab First United Methodist Church, where she attended and was active until her health wouldn’t allow.

She enjoyed dancing, loved flowers and loved bowling.

She is survived by her daughter: Billie Tounzen of Arab; sons and daughter-in-law: Thomas Mask of Guntersville and Steve and Nan Mask of Georgia; brother: Harold Thomas of Rhode Island; grandchildren and in-laws: Shawn and Leslie Tounzen, April and Matt Richmond, and Ty Mask; stepgrandson and in-law: David and Tia Brooks; great-grandchildren: Nathan Patrick Tounzen, Catherine Elaine Tounzen, Davis Richmond, Casey Richmond and Reese Richmond; step great-grandsons: Dawson Brooks and Dalton Brooks.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Amanda Brooke Mask; and great-grandson: Matthew Alexander Tounzen.

The graveside service was at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Arab Memorial Cemetery with Mime Smith officiating and Gober Funeral Chapel directing.

Memorials may be made to Shepherd’s Cove Hospice.
