Agnes Madden

Agnes Ruth Madden, 87, of Arab died Monday, Dec.6, 2021, at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice.

Mrs. Madden was born Sept. 1, 1934, in Blount County the daughter of Coy Smith and Ozella Earl Smith. She was married to William C. “Jack” Madden for 61 years at the time of his death on Jan. 4, 2014.

She was a 1952 graduate of J.B. Pennington High School, a member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by son: Steve Madden; grandchildren and in-law: Cassandra Madden and Craig and Courtney Madden; great-grandchild: Blaiklyn Madden; step-granddaughter and son-in-law: Savana and Kevin Tucker; sister: Ann Brown; brothers and sisters-in-law: Charles and Barbara Smith, Bobby and Diane Smith and Ronnie and Sue Smith.

She was preceded by a brother: Marlin Smith.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021, at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Ennis Stone, Michael Lackey and Steve Beam officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Gober Funeral Chapel directing.

Pallbearers were Allen Smith, Ross Smith, Russell Smith, Chris Garrison, Kevin Tucker and Greg Miller.
