Monday night the Arab City Council unanimously approved Kevin Walls as the new member of the Arab Board of Education, officially effective June 1.

Walls will replace Chuck Reynolds, who had served on the board since 2010.

Originally from Center Point, Walls attended Erwin High School and Snead State before beginning a 30-year sales career in the veterinary industry.

He has worked most recently with Merck Animal Health, a major pharmaceutical company.

Walls and his family moved to Arab a year ago from Cherokee Ridge after previously living in Spanish Fort.

“I didn’t grow up here, but I consider this home,” said Walls.

He and his wife, Jamie, who grew up in Tarrant, have three children.

Their daughter, Catherine, who was none other than Victor-E Knight at Arab sporting events since she was a freshman, has accepted a scholarship from both Auburn University and the agriculture department where she will study poultry science.
